the dreamy writers' webring
Remember webrings? A little chain of personal sites, all linked together, all vouching for each other, no algorithm required — just people saying "hey, I like this corner of the internet, go look at the next one." I miss that so much it's almost embarrassing. So I made one up. It's not real yet. But I want it to be. If you have a personal site and you write things and you want in, email me and I will add you so fast.

sites i think you should go look at right now
These aren't real links yet either (this is a brand new website, give her a chance), but this is exactly the shape my links page will take once I've properly gone down the rabbit hole of finding other personal sites, fanfic archives, poetry blogs, and weird little internet gardens run by real people instead of brands:
| site | why you'll like it |
|---|---|
| a friend's poetry corner (coming soon) | she writes about grief in a way that makes it feel survivable |
| a fanfic writer's archive (coming soon) | has genuinely improved my understanding of pacing more than any craft book |
| a photography blog (coming soon) | takes photos of laundry lines like they're cathedrals, incredible eye |
| your site? (email me) | if you write, make things, or just have a personal website with a pulse, I want to link you here |
awards this site has "won"
In the grand tradition of every 2003 fansite ever, here are the awards I have generously given my own website:

SEAL OF APPROVAL
yes I know I made these up. yes I am still proud of them. no I will not be taking feedback on this.
graphics & credits, because plagiarism is not cute
A quick, honest note: the little dancing gifs scattered around this site (the banana, the tiny dancers, the "hot!" stamp) came from a small open-source project that lovingly recreates classic web graphics — full credit to schochastics/quartocities on GitHub for keeping that chaotic joy alive. Everything else — the sparkle cursor, the rainbow text, the hit counter, the stripes, the stars — is hand-coded CSS, made by me, for this site, with love and way too much trial and error.
If you're hunting for more gifs in this exact spirit, gifcities.org (the Internet Archive's actual GeoCities gif search engine) is the real treasure chest — millions of animated gifs rescued straight from old GeoCities pages. Go get lost in there for an hour. Tell them Aurora sent you (they will not know what that means, that's fine).
